About the Owner:
I, Dan Phillips, am currently studying at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) to receive my Master's Degree in Youth and Human Service Administration. Dan Phillips Photography officially began in October of 2007 because I saw a need for a high-quality, low price photography service that was user friendly and available to everyone who needed a picture taken.
My personal history in photography dates back to Junior High School and my father's manual SLR camera. After playing around with that for a few years I moved up to a fully automatic Canon Rebel 2000 while in High School. While taking classes at Wilton High School in Wilton, Iowa, I began taking photos for the school newspaper, The Beaver Tale.
Through the High School, I was exposed to dark room developing of black & white film/prints, and while working for Hy-Vee in Muscatine, Iowa, I learned the basics of color print making. Once I got into college I began working with my first Digital SLR Camera, a Canon 10D. Over the years I have built up my arsenal of camera equipment to include a long line of professional supplies, including my most recent camera upgrade, in February of 2008, the Canon 40D.
All my life I have been fascinated with cameras and photography. It is my hope that through the starting of this business I can continue to share that passion with you. So please, take a look around, and if you feel so impelled, email me at: dan@dpphoto.org to ask any questions you might have.
As always, thank-you for visiting and I hope to hear from you soon.

Those same principles have stuck with me to this day and will be passed onto every customer that I come in contact with. These three principles are one in the same, and with that it is my promise to you that the service provided will always be to the best of my honest ability, and the products that you receive will reflect an equally honest and fair price.

About the Business:
Dan Phillips Photography is currently operated and run by me, Dan Phillips. I will be the one working with you from the first contact to the day you order your last print. Granted, from time to time I may have my fiance, Rachel, help me along the way, but I assure you, all photography services performed will be done professionally and proficiently.
I started this business with the mind set that I would focus on University of Northern Iowa College Students, but that shortly changed. I realized that college students were not the only group that could benefit from having a low-cost, high-quality photography service. And with that I decided to make my business available to anyone who is interested.
This business is more than just portraits and candids, this business is about enjoying every aspect of photography that life has to give. Whether its a baby's first photo, a young girls first t-ball game, or a senior couple 50th anniversary photo shoot, Dan Phillips Photography wants to be there to help keep those memories memorable for the years to come. No event is too little, and no event to big, at Dan Phillips Photography the possibilities end where your mind begins.
With that being said, I encourage you to contact me with any occasion that you would like to have immortalized with a photo...or in that case, a few hundred photos! The base prices for all events can be kept to a minimum and there is never a print order to small, or a budget that we wont work with.
